Meet Claire

Green plant stems against a white and light brown background, illustrated by MooksGoo

Born in Ayrshire and shaped by a life of open roads, uneven tracks, and hope kept close, I have always carried a deep understanding of what it means to search for belonging.

Lullabrae did not begin as a single idea. It revealed itself over time - a setting that holds what I have long observed: that gentleness is not something to outgrow, but something to be cherished, carried and passed on with care.

I tell these stories with heart, drawing inspiration from the islands and wild coasts of my childhood, and from the unexpected kindness of people and creatures that have shaped my wandering life.

From the Story Glen, I tell how things came to pass in Lullabrae - the days the storms got the better of the Wee Braes, and the days they got the better of themselves.

If you stay awhile, you may recognise something of yourself in what unfolded there.

There are seasons when the stories walk the hills and follow the tideline.  And seasons when they are told indoors, steady and watchful, by the lamp light and with the kettle near.

It unfolds as it will.

You are warmly welcome.

Come on in, Let us begin.
